“From an idea to a divine abode”

Jai Shree Shyam ! Jai Shree Shyam ! Jai Shree Shyam !-

Hello! Friends, I am your friend Radhika, today I will share with you such an anecdote which is related to faith and belief, love for our God, our Lord, our Ishwar. It is said that all people are afraid of God, all people worship him but only a few love him selflessly. Many people say that we love God, but if they are asked what is your relationship with your God, then everyone becomes stunned as if a stranger has been asked about their relationship or some people say that God is our protector, our Ishta, he is the one who gives us everything.

But the question is, what is your relationship with the one who gives you everything, what is his importance in your life, what is the feeling of your love for him?

With what feeling do we worship him?

So today we will know such a story of the thoughts in the mind of a person, how he gave existence to faith in his God?

This story is of the “Shri Khatushyam Baba Rohtak Dham” temple built by some youths in Rohtak city of Haryana, a state of India, which was built just 2 years ago by the local youth of Sanjay Colony.

A thought

Till a few years ago, in Sanjay Colony of Rohtak city, all the people were busy in their own lives and their own work styles. There was love among the people in the neighborhood but there was no harmony, everyone was busy in fulfilling the responsibilities of their lives. Everyone had devotion, love, faith towards God, but it was limited to their own house. At the time when everyone was busy in their daily activities, at the same time, a new idea of devotion towards God was arising in the minds of some youths living there. A person named Madhav and some of his friends were great devotees of “Shri Khatushyam Baba” who used to serve Shri Shyam Baba in some form or the other on his orders. Some expressed their love for their God by chanting in their minds and some by serving his idol day and night.

It is said that whatever happens in a person’s life happens only by the will of their God. Devotees do not choose their God, but God chooses his devotees.

Now this sentence raises a question in the minds of people that if God chooses his devotees, then does God also discriminate among his devotees? For God, everyone is equal.

So the answer is yes, for God, all children are equal, but when it comes to some special tasks, God chooses only a few devotees. When a child is born, from birth till a few years he lives a happy life, receives the love and affection of his parents and family and at the same time he starts building the foundation of his life, receives values from his parents, learns the difference between right and wrong, after that he receives his education and learns the right way to live life.
By the grace of God, all children get equal education, only the medium of that education can be different, some get education through their teacher and in some people’s life, God himself teaches them through examinations. After completing education, God gives everyone equal love and opportunity to make their life better, to use their education in the works of world welfare, to live life by walking on the path of religion and truth. By taking examinations from time to time, God selects his devotees for his special works, some people pass God’s examination and some do not. Now it is also true that a person knows everything about himself that where he is wrong and where he is not. He knows in his mind that where and at what time he has committed what mistake. Then he forgets his mistakes as if they are right and then asks God what was his mistake and when the person is told about his mistake then he pretends that he was unaware that he was not aware of it whereas some people accept their mistake and repent for it.

Why is this so, everyone was given equal education then why at the time of examination why the wrong was chosen instead of differentiating between right and wrong because God teaches the lessons of life equally to everyone, he gives the question paper equally to everyone but leaves the choice of answer only to his devotee. Only the person with the right answer is given special and responsible tasks.

When all the people of that area were busy in their lifestyle, a new feeling of devotion arose in the mind of the youth Madhav and his friends. One day all the friends were sitting together and spending their time, then a thought came out of someone’s mouth that why not get a temple of “Shri Shyam Baba” constructed in their area. Now, such a noble and great thought coming in someone’s mind all of a sudden can also be a sign from their God. As soon as this thought came out of someone’s mind and came on his face, a new path of devotion and consciousness developed in the minds of all the friends. At that very moment Madhav and his friends decided that the temple of “Shri Khatushyam Baba” will definitely be constructed. Now the idea of building a temple came and the decision to build a temple was also taken but what next? Building a temple was not an easy task and neither did everyone have so much money that a temple could be built with it but it is said that where there is a will there is a way and when God has put words in the mouth of the devotees then it was also God’s responsibility to guide them to fulfill them. As the flame of thought kept increasing in the minds of the devotees, they started seeing the way.

All the friends decided that they will collect money and at the same time Madhav and his friends took out some amount from their savings and dedicated it to the service of God for the work of temple construction. Now it is said that every work should be started with oneself first and then everyone will automatically join. Now as soon as all the friends donated some savings in the work of temple construction, after some time their Lord gave speed to their work, by the grace of their Lord people automatically started joining the work of temple construction and started contributing their own money.

With the blessings of Baba, all the friends laid the foundation stone of the temple with the help of everyone.

The foundation stone was laid according to very religious customs. All the devotees and local residents were very happy and were waiting for the day when the temple would be fully constructed and their deity would be seated near them. After the foundation stone was laid, all the friends together focused on the construction work of the temple. Many difficulties came in the construction work of the temple but the devotees kept their faith and patience. All the difficulties that came were faced with great confidence and love. Slowly as time passed, the construction work of the temple also climbed the ladder of success.

Then a day came and the construction work of the temple was completed and the hearts of the devotees were filled with happiness and devotion.

Now all the devotees were waiting for their Lord “Shri Khatushyam Baba” to be seated in that building. Now you will think why I said building, it is said that a temple is complete only when God is seated in it, where devotees come to find their God to get his love and affection, where hope arises in the mind of the devotees and where they feel the presence of their deity. The place where any devotee feels the presence of his deity is a temple, otherwise that place is just called a building of bricks and stones.

Then that day also came soon, with the grace of “Shri Khatushyam Baba” and the hard work and cooperation of the devotees, the day of Baba’s sitting in the temple was fixed. A wave of happiness ran among all the devotees. All the devotees started preparations to welcome Baba with great vigor.

Only one thing was echoing in every house that Baba is about to come, their God is about to come. The devotees were spending every day with great difficulty waiting for Baba, as if their feet were on the ground and their eyes were just longing for the darshan of their Lord. The entire temple was decorated with flowers and the colony was decorated with lights.

Today the day came for Baba’s arrival, as soon as Baba entered Rohtak city, all the devotees gathered at one place and welcomed Baba with a lot of drums, drums and flower showers. All the devotees warded off the evil eye from their Lord and garlanded him with flowers. After that, the devotees, by the order of their Baba, took him in their lap, showered flowers while chanting Jaikaras in his name and took him to the constructed temple site by padayatra.

There, the devotees welcomed Baba by performing aarti and tilak. Songs were sung by the devotees in the joy of his arrival and everyone just kept staring at their Lord. After the entry of “Baba” in the temple, the work of “Pran Pratishtha” of “Baba” was done with full rituals which lasted for five days. In which “Baba’s” Puja Aarti was done in a religious manner in the morning and evening.

In the joy of Baba’s arrival of “Shri Khatushyam Baba”, devotees welcomed him by serving Bhandara to all the devotees and a Jagran was organized in his honor to sing the praises of the Lord so that all the devotees could worship him the whole night and devotees from far and wide could come and see their “Baba”.

After Pran Pratishtha, when Baba’s form came in front of all the devotees, tears of joy came in the eyes of all the devotees. Baba’s form installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple felt as if Baba was in front of them. The form of the Lord decorated with many types of flowers, jewelry, and peacock feathers looked very captivating.

On 23rd November Ekadashi, the night of Jagran started. People from the entire Rohtak city and nearby cities came to see Baba and join his Jagran to get immersed in Baba’s Bhajans. All the devotees enjoyed the Prasad presented in the service of the Lord along with the Bhajans in the Jagran. The Jagran continued all night. Even after so many days of hard work, there was no feeling of fatigue in the devotees. They remained happy and cheerful throughout the night of Jagran. The devotees enjoyed Baba’s Bhajans with dance and applause throughout the night. The Jagran program ended with the morning Aarti and Prasad. All the devotees felt happy that their Baba had resided in their area.

Even after enjoying the Bhajans in the Jagran all night, the enthusiasm of devotion and love towards Baba remained in the devotees. After the completion of the Jagran, the devotees placed Baba on a chariot decorated with flowers and carried out a Kalash and Nishan Yatra in the city with drums and trumpets by the devotees carrying Kalash and a sign with Baba’s name. During the entire journey, the devotees chanted Baba’s praises with great joy and enthusiasm and after the completion of the journey, all the devotees seated Baba in the temple again and took his blessings. Baba also gave his full love and blessings to all the devotees and blessed them to stay in Rohtak forever and shower his love on the devotees.

Today, it will be 2 years since Baba was seated in the “Shri Khatu Shyam Rohtak Dham” temple in Sanjay Colony of Rohtak and even today there is no decrease in the love and faith of the local people towards Baba, rather this love has increased with time. Devotees come here every morning and evening and serve and worship Baba with great love and devotion. On every festival, programs are organized in the temple and the festival is celebrated with great love by staying in the shelter of Baba. On every festival, the members of the temple organize programs of Bhajan Kirtan and Prasad Seva. The temple is decorated with flowers and balloons.

On the first anniversary of the temple, old memories were refreshed in honor and love of Baba and Jagran was organized again. In which the devotees made every time a colorful event and enjoyed the Bhajan Sandhya with full enthusiasm and zeal. This enthusiasm and zeal will always remain in the devotees.

One more thing is worth noting here, you might think that the responsibility of Madhav and his friends ended with the construction of the temple, but it is not so because everyone knows that one responsibility comes with many responsibilities. Those who think that they have fulfilled their responsibility, but it is not so, knowingly or unknowingly they ignore the other responsibilities. But with the blessings of Baba, Madhav and his friends kept in mind the other responsibilities associated with their one responsibility. Along with their family responsibilities, they all fulfill their responsibilities towards the temple with great love and devotion. They try to maintain the arrangements of the temple from time to time and try to fulfill the things that are needed at what time in the temple so that the devotees who come to see Baba in the temple can get facilities.

These devotees will always remain associated with this effort and if “Baba” blesses, then soon these devotees will take their first step towards the welfare of the world so that with the help of donations and service received in the temple, they will help children and the elderly. We ordinary people will not be able to understand this feeling of devotees towards their God because this feeling will be understood only by those devotees who have not only worshipped their Isht (deity) but have loved them, have kept them in the temple of their mind, have meditated on them in every moment. They have dedicated all their happiness and sorrows to them. It is said that those who worry only about their responsibilities, remain limited to themselves and their families only, but those who entrust their responsibilities to God, God himself takes up their responsibilities and entrusts the work of public welfare to them.

A relationship with God is not an external relationship, but an internal experience.

It is a bond that is beyond words, connects with the soul – neither seen nor heard, only felt.

When we silence the noise of our mind, a soft voice arises from within – that is the call of God.

A relationship with God is trust, surrender, and most of all, an unwavering love.

This relationship:

Lives in prayers, not questions,

Flours in gratitude, not demands,

Resides in the feeling of closeness, not distance.

🌿 Some emotional lines:

“God is not far, it is just a matter of looking inside.”

“When everyone leaves you, God is closest to everyone.”

“Love, faith and peace – these are the truest definitions of God.”
